Why is India still a
developing country and not a developed country? What is stopping it from being
a developed country? These are some of the common questions that we often
encounter after switching on our television sets. Moreover in social networking
sites, people are creating community pages to discuss these issues. The really
critical aspect of Indian public education system is its low quality. The
actual load of schooling that children experience and the quality of teaching
that they receive are extremely insufficient in Government schools. A common
feature in all government schools is the poor quality of education, with poor
infrastructure and inadequate academic attention.
The basic purpose of education is to create human capital. Nothing can be more
beneficial for the country than its human resource. The Government is yet to
realize this need. It is true that students are getting a higher percentage of
marks, irrespective of whether they studied in government schools or in private
schools; but there is a huge difference between getting good marks, and being a
productive and creative human being. The Government needs to emphasize on
imparting education that is more practical based and that can lead the students
in their field of interest.
By implementing such an education system, the Government can ensure a
productive group of human resource. It is not about higher education only, but
also about ensuring a sound educational foundation to the students across the
country. Thus the nursery and primary level education should be child friendly.
It should be modeled to sharp the innate qualities and creativity of the
students so that they can use it in the later life. A student may not be good
in scientific theories, but may have a knack for literary aspects.
So we should encourage them according to their field of interest. There are
certain schools that are taking new measures to provide an advanced and high
quality of education. G.D. Goenka Public School in Swarn Nagri, Greater Noida,
is one the most reputed educational institutes in the locality. The school
provides an extra ordinary learning experience to its students.
With a focus on providing interest based education, the school ensures that all
modern infrastructural facilities like spacious class rooms, high-tech labs,
well-stocked library, play ground, computer lab, activity room and recreation
facility are made available to the students. The school’s basic principle is to
teach students how they can groom themselves up so that they can think out of
the box. In this competitive world of ours, having formal education isn’t sufficient; we need to create a group of
citizens who can think, feel and act equally in a creative way.
