Umur tanaman ini bisa mencapai 400 sampai 15 abad!. Bisa hidup terus tanpa hujan selama 5 tahun lamanya! Selain itu, tanaman yang dalam bahasa Namibia disebut Onyanga ini ternyata enak untuk dimakan baik dimakan mentah maupun dimasak dalam bara. O ya, arti nama Onyanga adalah Bawang Padang Pasir!
